چکیده
Purpose: We explored the effects of silicone tube fixation using a nonabsorbable suture on adult nasal wall during intubation. Methods: The medical records patients (50; 54 eyes) diagnosed with nasolacrimal duct stenosis and canalicular lacerations who underwent to (using sutures) intubation from January 2019 June 2021 were followed-up for more than 3 months after surgery retrospectively investigated. recorded percentages early displacement noted other complications. Results: enrolled 22 males 28 females average age 65.28 ± 8.88 years. tubes maintained an 9.13 1.77 weeks in group 20.13 3.36 laceration group. Early occurred two 46 eyes (4.4%) 0 eight (0%) Overall, only (3.7%). Other complications included irritation four cases (7.4%), canaliculitis three (5.6%), loss fixed sutures (5.6%).Conclusions: Silicone simply effectively prevents loss, associated minimal complications.

Nasolacrimal intubation in adults.
BACKGROUND/AIMS Silicone intubation has been shown to be successful in the management of epiphora in children. The effectiveness of this procedure was assessed in adults. METHODS 70 eyes from 53 patients underwent nasolacrimal intubation. Mean age at intubation was 54.7 years. Mean follow up period was 15 months. The results were based on improvement of symptoms. RESULTS Complete resolution...

PURPOSE To assess the effectiveness of bicanalicular silicone intubation (SI) in acquired partial nasolacrimal duct (NLD) obstruction. DESIGN Retrospective nonrandomized case series METHODS 72 tear ducts from 53 patients with severe epiphora due to acquired partial NLD obstruction underwent bicanalicular SI. Mean age at intubation was 55.9 years. The silicone tubes were removed after, on av...
متن کاملPreventing Silicone Tube Extrusion after Nasolacrimal Duct Intubation in Children
Herein we report our experience with a simple technique for reducing the rate of silicone tube extrusion after nasolacrimal duct (NLD) intubation for congenital NLD obstruction. Medical records of children older than 2 years, with or without history of failed probing, who had undergone NLD intubation with a Crawford silicone tube over a period of 4 years were reviewed. In all subjects, one end ...
